History of beer

By 1880 there were 2500 breweries across the
nation
·
Chemical tests of ancient pottery fars reveal
that beer was produced as back as 7000 years ago
·
In mesopotamina the oldest evidence of beer is
6000 years old Sumerian tablet depicting people drinking a beverage through
reed straws from a communal bowl.
·
Beer was discovered at Good Tepe in the central
Zargos mountains of Iran where fragments of jug, at least 5000 years old was
found to be coated with beer stone, a by-product of brewing process.
·
Ale produced before the industrial revolution
continued to be made and sold on a domestic scale, although by 7th
century ad beer was also being produced and sold by European monasteries.

During the industrial revolution, the production
of beer moved from artisanal to industrial manufacturing and domestic
manufacturing ceased to be significant by the end of the 19th
century.

As of today more than 133 billion liters are
sold a year = producing total global revenues of $294.5 billion.

of college students ages 18-22 report drinking alcohol in the past month and
