History of beer
·      By 1880 there were 2500 breweries across the nation
·      Chemical tests of ancient pottery fars reveal that beer was produced as back as 7000 years ago
·      In mesopotamina the oldest evidence of beer is 6000 years old Sumerian tablet depicting people drinking a beverage through reed straws from a communal bowl.
·      Beer was discovered at Good Tepe in the central Zargos mountains of Iran where fragments of jug, at least 5000 years old was found to be coated with beer stone, a by-product of brewing process.
·      Ale produced before the industrial revolution continued to be made and sold on a domestic scale, although by 7th century ad beer was also being produced and sold by European monasteries.
·      During the industrial revolution, the production of beer moved from artisanal to industrial manufacturing and domestic manufacturing ceased to be significant by the end of the 19th century.
·      As of today more than 133 billion liters are sold a year = producing total global revenues of $294.5 billion.

College students and beer
·      College and alcohol has become a ritual
·      Studies reveal a consistent association between lower-self reported grade averages and higher levels of alcohol consumption
·      According to national survey, almost 60 percent of college students ages 18-22 report drinking alcohol in the past month and almost 40 percent of the report binge drinking in the past month.
·      Each year an estimated 1825 college students between ages 18 to 24 die from alcohol related unintentional injuries
·      Students under the age 21 reported drinking with 82 percent of underage college.
·      According to Harvard researchers, the majority of all drinking occurs in white males under the age of 24 (mostly involved in athletics or reside in fraternities).
·      Each year an estimated 3360000 students between 18 to 24 drive under the influence of alcohol.

·      Fifa world cup partnership
·      2012 = bud light paid 1 billion for 6yr deal for NFL rights.
·      Budweiser rights to MLB are 20 million a year.
·      Budweiser NBA estimated at 35 million a tear
·      Rights to majority of major sports teams (American football, baseball, basketball)

·      Heineken =70 million a year partnership with UEFA for champions league rights. (2005 company switch to promote on global basis)
·      Title sponsor of Europe premier international club rugby competition.

·      Carlsberg = associayed with UEFA started in 1998.
·      Targets soccer and fans
·      Sponsor of Liverpool (1992-2010)
·      National teams sponsorship with Bulgaria, Denmark, Serbia and Switzerland.
·      New round of sponsorship including rights to English premier league and arsenal.

·      Miller lite/ Coors light = NFL deals with Dallas cowboys, green bay packers and Minnesota timer wolves.
·      53.5 million a year deal with NHL.
·      Soccer deals including MLS clubs and liga MX

·      Corona = rights in soccer (central and north America with several Mexican and US clubs)

·      Partner rights to tennis ATP tour at 13 million
